Cornwall Contemporary

cornwallcontempCornwall Contemporary opened on 1st September 2006. It is a large, spacious art gallery set out over three floors in a listed building at the top of historic Chapel Street in Penzance. Within five minutes walking distance of both Penlee House Gallery and The Exchange Gallery, the ground floor is used for changing exhibitions whilst the upper two floors are used for paintings by gallery artists and special capsule installations and exhibitions.

Now in its 10th year, there is an emphasis on exhibiting paintings associated with Cornwall. Representing nationally and internationally known artists, the gallery has a reputation for showing quality, unique works by artists including Emma Dunbar, Melanie Goemans, Paul Lewin, Alasdair Lindsay, Janet Lynch, Maggie Matthews, Daphne McClure, Emma McClure, Fiona Millais, Ele Pack, Neil Pinkett, Ken Spooner and Kristin Vestgard.

With three floors of exhibition space, the gallery is located at the top of historic Chapel Street, close to the public art galleries of The Exchange and Penlee House. The downstairs galleries host a varied annual programme of solo and group exhibitions which change monthly, whilst the two upper floors show a changing mixed display of work by gallery artists.

Paintings, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, art books and artist jewellery are always on display.
